Mainstream Media Is Not Ratings Driven

by on Feb.18, 2012, under The General Pursuit

Obviously ratings matter to those profit seeking decision makers who lead media companies such as CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News – but there are other driving forces that take precedent. These companies no longer work for the people to keep the government in check. They work for the government to keep the people in check.

Listen to Cenk Uygur discuss his departure from MSNBC, despite having surpassed CNN in viewership during his time slot. They boys in Washington didn’t like him, so they fired him despite great ratings. Is the mainstream media in the business of making money, or controlling American minds through the development and control of public opinion?
