Two Nebraska Nuclear Power Plants Flooded

by on Jun.19, 2011, under The General Pursuit

In addition to the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Station just north of Omaha, which has been discussed here, Cooper Nuclear Power Station at Brownville filed a NOUE (Notice of Unusual Event) on the 9th of June stating that the plant was not currently in compliance with the waste water permit because a sludge pond on the site had been overtopped my the Missouri River flood waters.   Click here for more info.

Omaha Public Power District has attempted to address all the rumors circulating regarding the Fort Campbell Nuclear Station here.    Information is difficult to sort out while professional investigative journalists with the national media continue ignore the story.     Normally they love standing in hip boots reporting live from the flooded areas.    Wonder why they aren’t as eager to get the waders out for this flood?
